After writing my first official college paper for hours on end yesterday, the last thing I really feel like doing for a while is writing. But last night something worth mentioning happened. It was about 12:30 am, much past my preferred bed time, and I was seconds away from peaceful sleep. Suddenly I hear the faint pounding of piano keys. My initial though was: what jackass is playing the piano at 1:00 in the morning?! Then, as my sleepy head registered the noise, I heard the familiar chords of "Somedays" by Regina Spektor. I was instantly awoken, but because I had to wake up in less than seven hours and I hadn't been feeling well all day, my eager mind wasn't exactly in tune with my still slumbering body. Sleep was really the one thing I needed, or so I thought. The chords continued to play and the mystical power of who I would meet drew me out of my comfortable (or not) bed and downstairs into the living room to find my new friend singing along the melody to this beautiful song.

"Wow, you are playing on of my favorite songs!" I said as I walked up to the piano.
"You are kidding!?" exclaimed the mystery pianist.

We continued to chatter, and I played her favorite song "Human of the Year" and we sang along together in wonderment that we had found one another. She told me I should be in the choir, (which I really wanted to do but missed the try out) and wants to conspire again on night so we can share with each other our love of Regina. Her name is Katelyn and she looks cool with short brown hair and purple glasses. I am glad that I didn't get much sleep last night.

Oh and another cool thing happened! My Humanities Professor didn't show up to my 9:00 class so 20 minutes in the class decided to get up and leave. It was the sort of thing that everyone wished could happen in High School and it actually happened! I've been waiting my whole life for that moment. That's really dramatic, but it was cool. And I sat with my two new friends Tim (the one who likes Neutral Milk Hotel and who is a commuter student) and Katherine, a pretty red head who always wears comfortable clothing and has her hair in a braid. It was a nice lunch and I actually had time to eat it because our English professor let us out 20 minutes early. So far today is going well. But, I have my second Biochem quiz today, so I am nervous about that. Only three more classes until my weekend starts. Hallelujah.
