I love days when I get to hang out with my brother and my friends simultaneously. Especially if we are doing something fun like the rope swing. Jeff and I get along really well and Dave, our sort of friend connector through Chris, is a cool guy too. Going to the Rutland rope swing is like our thang. I have gone off the "little" rope swing a couple times, but I only did half of the BIG rope swing once, and nearly landed too shallowly so now I am scared. Jeff gets so much air on the rope swing, it's insane! One time when we were there, we stayed swinging and swimming until it got dark, and didn't realize how incredibly dark it was without the moonlight shining into the forest like it had on the edges of the lake. We needed some sort of light, so we found a log, wrapped and old cruddy shirt on it, tied it, and lit it on fire like a torch. It was pretty bad ass. Walking through the wilderness at night in the pitch dark with a lit handmade torch. How many people can say they've done that?
Watching the Fireworks wasn't all I remember it being cracked up to be this year. I have lived in Rutland for 9 years, and not once have I been to the Rutland Fireworks. I've always been away in Maine and watched the distant Fireworks of Old Orchard Beach on the pier from my Nana's part of the beach a couple miles down. It was nice but will never compare to this time as a child when we went to these amazing fireworks in Springfield and ended up on the cover or some Newspaper. We have the Newspaper laminated copy of it somewhere. But tonight, wow, what an uneventful night before July 4th. People came over and I honestly don't think one thing happened. I like my friends a lot, though. We just talked and ended up going to Wendy's and I got chicken sandwich and a Frosty. Yuck.
I'm so sleepy. Hopefully we all can go swing dancing tomorrow11111111111111
