This is the fourth night in a row that I have fallen asleep in the midst of blogging. I am tired and sick, and otherwise in a fine mood. It seems that whenever I decide to stay home for the evening, something fun is going on at Jenny's house. It would have been really nice to see her, and I still need to bring her some books. Well, I missed it, whatever. I'm not worried about lacking in fun, because getting healthy is my new goal. I slept from 3:00 p.m to 7:30 p.m and my throat feels like shards of glass are meticulously scrapping up against the back of my throat. I watched Gran Torino with my parents and thought Clint Eastwood did a great job.
Something weird happened today. All of my thoughts were somehow connected. While watching the movie, there was some line about how the world is nothing but the tiny things people leave behind. How each seemily insignificant action or commodity are the things that make up our world, I guess. That wasn't the point of the movie, but it's still interesting to think how interwoven the world is. There are so many different cultures and things it's overwhelming to think that everything we know now will eventually be different. Just how 1000 years ago up until today, things have changed and progressed so much. Anyways, I didn't realize I had this thought until I was listening to Scythian Empire by Andrew Bird. It's weird to think that there was this whole unknown world that existed before us, which now only prevails by the relics it left behind. Now these things are only an afterthought, which still makes them beautiful. Sort of like the way Clint Eastwood's character changed in the movie. Even if it was much subtler, both things are equally irrelevant in the scope of History. It makes this whole life thing a little easier to think that people have been doing it for longer than I can comprehend. And that our lives are really just tiny speckles that we get to make the most of.
